SDCC 2024: Marvel’s ‘Psylocke’ Is A One Woman Army This November By Wong & Carratu

Psylocke has long been one of the Marvel Universe’s most intriguing characters. In November, she steps out on her own in her first ongoing series as a part of X-Men From The Ashes.
Coming from Alyssa Wong & Vincenzo Carratu, the series will spin directly from the pages of X-Men. Through this new series, Kwannon will grapple with her past and her history as an assassin while working with Cyclops as the X-Men’s one woman black ops team.
In the wake of her tumultuous transformation and separation from Betsy Braddock, Kwannon has embraced the role of Psylocke. Now with her lover John Greycrow at her side, she’ll face her past with the Hand, solve the problems the X-Men can’t fix and find her face to face with the disturbing villain the Taxonomist.
“Everything in her history points her to the path of a villain,” Wong shared. “Her background is so full of tragedy—so why does she choose to be a hero?”
“This is a dark emotional character story,” they continued. “But it will also be a ton of fun as well. I’m excited to do something super dark”
The series joins a fascinating line-up of X-Men titles, with this being the fourth ongoing solo series, and sixth solo series in the line. Of those, five of them are starring female or female-presenting leads, and this is the second in which the lead is non-white.
