SDCC 2024: DSTLRY Reunites Scott Snyder And Jock For New Series ‘You Won’t Feel A Thing’

by Austin Gorton

You Won’t Feel A Thing, a new series reuniting Scott Snyder and Jock, was announced by DSTLRY at their Building New Worlds SDCC 2024 panel. Set to debut this November, this three issue noir series reunites the creative team behind Wytches — currently in production as an animated series at Amazon — and is overseen by former Vertigo editor Will Dennis.

In You Won’t Feel A Thing, Jack Bernard is a retired detective whose past comes back to haunt him. Once, Jack was one of the most accomplished homicide detectives. Now Bernard wastes away in a retirement home with a brain tumor slowly wiping his memories. But when a serial killer case from his past reemerges, Jack must weave together his remaining memories to stop a killer that only he believes exists.

You Won’t Feel A Thing is by far the most haunting and atmospheric project I’ve ever worked on,” Snyder said in a statement. “The story is a descent into white-knuckle giallo and noir influences, with a healthy sheen of psychological (and very literal) horror. It’s a project that wouldn’t work on any level without Jock as a co-pilot, and we’ve been brainstorming and layering this deeply complex thriller into the twilight hours.”

Echoing Snyder, Jock added, “the claustrophobic, disorienting approach of You Won’t Feel A Thing is unlike anything we’ve done before. The oversized format of DSTLRY books allow us to push the boundaries of our creativity. This is a horror experience designed to blow minds and stop sleep. It’s an understatement to say I can’t wait for this to hit stands.”

“Collaborating with Scott and Jock is always a unique experience. Their combined talents bring out the best in each other, and You Won’t Feel A Thing is no exception. It feels great getting the band back together,” said Dennis said.
