Heroes & Villains Adds New Gotham Gear With The Gotham City Guardian Work Jacket

by Anton Kromoff

Welcome to the table,

I have been a fan of Batman for as long as I can remember. There are so many iterations to love: the classic caped crusader, the old Bruce Wayne fighting mutants in the mud, the New 52 Dark Knight, and a thousand Elsworlds worth of iterations that come down to a troubled genius and his dutiful butler doing his best to save a city from those who would see it corrupted for their personal gain.

I think that is one of the reasons the Gotham City Guardian Work Jacket from Heroes & Villains resonates with me. Heroes & Villains always does amazing work with their offerings, but this thing just feels like it works as both Batman merch and as something you can wear without feeling like you just snagged a gaudy t-shirt off a rack in some department store.

It has all the hallmarks you want in a jacket. It’s durable, it has a quilted Sherpa fleece lining, and it has a hood to protect you from the wind and rain. The thing is stuffed with pockets, and it has this rad shoulder-to-shoulder Batman logo that is easily recognizable as a Batman logo but also does not feel like you are just strapping on some goofy costume.

It for sure has some fan service callouts like the Gotham City Guardian patch, but that feels understated and works well with the rest of the design folding into what honestly feels like an everyday wear jacket in the rainy or winter months.

If there are those of you out there who are looking for early gift ideas or want to grab something that works for Fall but is not necessarily pumpkin spice in nature, this is a heck of a good choice all things considered.

Until next time, Old Man Batman I think is my favorite. The one who acts as a guide and counsel to the future generations. The “Dad” Batman if you will.
