Frank Miller’s ‘Pandora’ (Book 1) And ‘Ronin Rising’ Abrams ComicArts Collections Previewed

Abrams ComicArts is publishing Frank Miller’s Ronin Rising, the sequel to his ’80s DC Comics series, Ronin, and Pandora (Book 1), and both are out tomorrow, Tuesday 8th October. But only in bookstores. You’ll have to wait until new comic book day to get copies in your local store. Either way, you can get these new collections as a hardcover edition or a manga edition. Or you could get both.
Ronin Rising is written by Frank Miller who has also produced the cover and two chapters of interior art. Illustrating the largest portions of the book are artists Philip Tan and Daniel Henriques. This collection also includes Miller’s layouts, concept designs by Tan, six full-page wraparound variant covers, and a foreword by DC Comics Publisher Jim Lee.
Here’s the plot:
“A cursed Ronin. Psychological manipulation by a sentient AI. A security commander turned savior. And a postapocalyptic biotech war in the demon-teeming pits of a twenty-first century New York. This is the world of Frank Miller’s Ronin Rising, the highly anticipated sequel to the influential cyberpunk comics classic by the legendary Eisner Hall of Fame cartoonist.”

Pandora (Book 1) is co-written by Anthony Maranville and Chris Silvestri (Star Trek: Discovery) with art by Emma Kubert (Inkblot). It includes endpapers and concept art by Kubert; a behind-the-scenes look at the process of making Miller’s Pandora; and six variant covers by Miller, Kubert, and Theresa Kubert.
