‘Child’s Play’ Franchise Chronicled In Shudder’s New ‘Doc Of Chucky’

The horror aficionados at Shudder have prepared Doc of Chucky, the ultimate behind the scenes look at the Child’s Play film franchise and its TV spin-off Chucky. It blends interviews from cast, crew, critics, and others with clips, archival documents, and more. It runs a whopping 295 minutes. That’s just under five hours spent discussing and dissecting Good Guy Doll destruction.
The doc is directed by Thommy Hutson, who previously helmed features looking behind the scenes at other horror series, including Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy, and Crystal Lake Memories: The Complete History of Friday the 13th.
Interviewees include franchise architect Don Mancini — who has devoted pretty much his entire career writing and/or directing the Chuckyverse — and the voice of Chucky himself, Brad Dourif.
It also features franchise vets Jennifer Tilly, Catherine Hicks, Chris Sarandon, John Waters, Fiona Dourif, Perrey Reeves, and Gerrit Graham, plus producer David Kirschner, various critics and fanatics, and more
Doc of Chucky begins streaming exclusively on Shudder November 1st.
