Kylo Ren Hunts For The ‘Legacy Of Vader’ In New ‘Star Wars’ Ongoing Series

One of the most fascinating aspects of Star Wars sequel trilogy was always the journey of Kylo Ren. Was he a misguided young man, or an irredeemable villain? In February, Marvel Comics explores that in Star Wars: Legacy of Vader.
Coming from Charles Soule and Luke Ross — the creators behind Star Wars, Dark Vader, The Rise of Kylo Ren, War of the Bounty Hunters and Thrawn — the series will bridge the gap between Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. It will explore both the destiny of the man once known as Ben Solo, and his grandfather, Darth Vader.
Following his ascent to the role of Supreme Leader after the death of Snoke, Kylo Ren is finding himself questioning everything that led him to where he stood as the heir of the Dark Side and his grandfather’s legacy. His madness grips him, leading him on a quest across the galaxy. Follow him from Tatooine to Mustafar to see the adventures that led Ren to fulfill his destiny.
“When fans talk to me about my Star Wars work, two of my Marvel comic runs come up more than almost anything else: my 2017 run on Darth Vader with Giuseppe Camuncoli and my 2019 series The Rise of Kylo Ren with Will Sliney,” Soule told StarWars.com. “I think both of those worked so well in part because they were set in parts of the Star Wars timeline full of unanswered questions about characters the audience really loves. This new series is not just a combination of those two books, but also a chance to explore an extremely rich section of the timeline that’s almost entirely open: Kylo Ren’s time as Supreme Leader of the First Order between Episode VIII and Episode IX. It’s one of the coolest series I’ve ever worked on, and I am very thrilled that I get to keep following my own path through the Star Wars galaxy with an amazing book like this.”
