Classic 1990s Platformer Croc Returns With ‘Croc: Legend Of The Gobbos’

by Sage Ashford

1990s platforming mascots have been returning in droves lately, so developer Argonaut Games has decided to bring back another by remastering 1997’s Croc: Legend of the Gobbos.  This new remaster retains all of the charm of the original, but updates everything with HD models and textures.  Fans can also expect improved analog controls — players won’t be fighting it anymore — and a better camera.

Those who prefer the old-school graphics don’t have to worry though, as the game has a “Retro Display” mode so players can choose between the new graphics and the original.

These days, games like this are often digital-only, but Rock-It Games has confirmed players can expect a physical edition on PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch.  The Standard Edition will cost $39.99 and come with the game and a classic style full-color manual.  The Collector’s Edition will cost $129.99 and offer an eight-inch Croc statue, a four-disc CD soundtrack, a Croc Keychain, a sticker sheet, an 18×24 poster, and a premium box.

Croc: Legend of the Gobbos is releasing digitally on PlayStation and Xbox consoles, GOG, and Nintendo Switch on December 5th.
