‘River City Saga: Three Kingdoms Next’ Features Motorcycle Mayhem And More

The River City series of games have been entertaining players all the way back to the original Nintendo Entertainment System. One of the more recent installments, River City Saga: Three Kingdoms, took the action back in time to third century China, and features characters from the tale Romance of the Three Kingdoms. 

The sequel, River City Saga: Three Kingdoms Next, picks right up following the Battle of Red Cliffs and proceeds until the conclusion of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms novel. The game includes six chapters that follow over 100 different River City characters. Some of the new gameplay features include:

• River City Cast in Three Kingdoms Roles – Including Kunio as Guan Yu, Misako as Zhuge Liang, Goda as Liu Bei, Yamada as Cao Cao, Toraichi as Huang Zhong, Tobioka as Sima Yi, and many others.
• Romance of the Three Kingdoms Twists – The story of famous generals joining Liu Bei’s army in the battle against rival Cao Cao takes some inventive River City-style twists thanks to the influence of Kunio and his friends. Enjoy dramatic and comedic twists that can only be found in the River City version of the tale!
• Get on Red Hare and Send Enemies Packing! – Red Hare makes an appearance as a motorcycle this time! You can summon Red Hare when the gauge is full, allowing you to travel through stages on the bike. Soar down the road while tossing enemies aside and even create your own customized Red Hare ride by collecting parts.

• • • And meeting certain conditions can even change Red Hare into something other than a motorcycle…

• Arsenal of Flashy Tactics and Specials – Similar to the Romance of the Three Kingdoms novel, game players will experience clever strategies and powerful military tactics throughout the game.

• • • Hold enemies in place through the help of sumo wrestlers with the Freeze Tactic
    • Shake the ground as you battle with the Earthquake tactic
    • Set the stage aflame with Fire Tactics
    • Wash the enemy base straight away with Water Tactics
    • Summon familiar faces to aid in battle with an all-new Tactic
    • Combine these Tactics with the skill tree system for learning special attacks to conquer the unique stages where enemies await!

River City Saga: Three Kingdoms Next is out now on Nintendo Switch, Sony PlayStation4, and Steam.
