2000 AD are building on the success of their six-issue mix-tape of thrill power, The Best of 2000 AD, highlighting all that’s incredible in the nearly 50-year history of the comic, with a special FCBD entry showcasing thrills from the past, present, and future of 2000 AD.

It’s going to feature four stories, with something for everyone – a complete new Judge Anderson story from Alex de Campi and Silvia Califano; a classic Judge Dredd from John Wagner and Jock, classic Rogue Trooper tale from Peter Milligan and Jose Ortiz; and a glimpse into the future as we get a sneak peek into the new Scarlet Traces story from Ian Edginton and D’Israeli before it appears in the weekly 2000 AD.

The Best of 2000 AD was a perfect intro to the world of 2000 AD, a mix of everything from the entire history of the comic that’s brought you Judge Dredd, Rogue Trooper, Strontium Dog, Nemesis, Halo Jones – just some of the classics. But the brilliance of Best of 2000 AD was that it highlighted so much more – the wonders of strips like Brink, Leviathan, Shakara, Cradlegrave, Zombo, Devlin Waugh, Hewligan’s Haircut, Storming Heaven – all of them prime examples of everything that still makes 2000 AD the greatest sci-fi anthology around.

And the FCBD Best of 2000 AD continues that highlighting of all that’s great with the comic, a perfect pick up for your 2025 Free Comic Book Day. It all happens on Saturday 4th May 2025, as comic shops across North America, the UK, and Ireland celebrate Free Comic Book Day.

And feel free to have a look at just some of what made Best of 2000 AD such a damn good series with our previews here.
