‘The Legend Of Ochi’ Could Be ‘E.T.’ For A New Generation

Between Stranger Things and Star Wars: Skeleton Crew we’re still getting spiritual successors to the golden age of Amblin Entertainment.The Legend of Ochi follows a young girl who becomes protective of a fantastic creature in a world where monster hunting is an ironclad tradition. The film has very strong echos of Steven Spielberg‘s E.T.: The Extraterrestrial. Seeing as this is one of the few original films we’ll be getting next year I wanted to give the trailer some love:
A24 has been a prominent force in independent films over the last decade. While not all of their output has been to my personal taste, I hope they remain a bastion for slickly produced, modest budget films for year to come.
