The Toy Experts Johnny Jimenez and Steve Johnston present the fifth installment of Who The F*#k Is Frank?. Joining them to discuss comics, toys, collectibles, and all things in worlds of pop culture fandom are Co-Hosts Paul Vato (MADtv, Ted, The Big Game) and Brendan Allen of Comicon.
In this week’s episode, the gang speculates on big trends for 2025 in toys, comics, pop culture, and collectibles. Steve points out the huge uptick in Star Wars fandom and segues into a current Hakes auction that features roughly $7M worth of Star Wars, G.I. Joe, Masters of the Universe, and Transformers figures.
Carlos Molina of El Paso’s soon-to-be-renamed Soldiercon joins Steve, Johnny, and Paul in-studio to discuss accessibility in the nerd space and to plug his event.
Brendan has some notes on FanX New Orleans, taking place January 10th-12th at the Ernest N Morial Convention Center. Big draws for the show include a gaggle of TV and film Supermen and a Back to the Future 40th anniversary reunion headlined by Michael J Fox, Christopher Lloyd, Tom Wilson, and Lea Thompson.
Interestingly, Jeffrey Weissman will also be in attendance as part of the massive BttF guest lineup, which sparked a side note on Crispin Glover’s lawsuit against Universal, and how that 1990 decision impacts the use of AI and CG in today’s entertainment industry.
David Pepose also popped by the virtual interview studio to chat about Cable: Love & Chrome.
