A new character is joining the ThunderCats fray in ThunderCats: Lost #2. But they’re also a killer on the loose.
The journey of lost Thunderans Bengali, Pumyra, and Lynx-O continues as they encounter a new character in the upcoming issue of the Dynamite title. Writer Ed Brisson and artist Rapha Lobosco also continue their tale as they introduce Scorpius, the latest addition to the roster in the team-up between the comic book publisher and Warner Bros. Discovery Consumer Products. Evading capture by Captain Shiner and his forces on a hostile world, the Thunderans find shelter in a nearby town. But the mysterious Scorpius — a mercenary who works for Shiner, but has a zeal for hunting ThunderCats — dogs their every step even as the plan to bring the captain down and return to their ship.
In a statement, Brisson said, “Coming into ThunderCats: Lost, we were pretty confident with the new cast members that Rapha and I introduced in the first issue (Niko and Ligon), but wanted to make sure that our cats had a formidable foe.
“For certain, Captain Shiner and his army are a force to be reckoned with, but his right-hand, personal mercenary Scorpius is on a completely different level,” the writer continues. “A one-man army and hunter who knows the danger that cats present for his world and will stop at nothing to ensure that each and every cat is dead and buried. This murder machine is a threat unlike anything that the ThunderCats have faced before.”
Scorpius joins the aforementioned Niko and Ligon, and characters like Apex and Calica, who are aiding the expansion of the ThunderCats world and bringing more story possibilities to the concept.
Supporting the issue will be covers from Declan Shalvey, Clayton Henry, Meghan Hetrick, Mark Bagley, and Jae Lee.
ThunderCats: Lost #2 arrives in stores April 2nd. Initial orders for the first issue in the series are due next week.
