Peach Momoko Re-Imagines The Marvel Universe Again In Kimono Variant Covers

Superstar artist Peach Momoko has become beloved for many reasons. One of the biggest though has been blending the Marvel Universe with her Japanese culture. In April, we get to see that again in a new series of variant covers.
Blending traditional Japanese attire with the iconic looks of almost twenty different Marvel heroines, Momoko has done something special once again. The nineteen covers see her re-imagine iconic heroes, fan-favorites and new breakout stars.
“When I drew the Marvel heroes wearing kimono, I wanted people to simply enjoy seeing the heroes wearing kimono as a fashion item,” Momoko explained. “I didn’t want to stick to just a traditional formal image, so I tried to bring out the individuality of a super hero wearing the kimono as a very casual look. The overall design is simple, but I hope you could feel the wabi-sabi in each cover.”
These are all stunning, and have tons of personality. My favorite might be Sue Storm’s kimono on Fantastic Four #30, with Ms. Marvel on NYX #9 is close behind. Regardless all of them are incredible.
