After last month’s tie-ins with Captain America: Brave New World, one wouldn’t be surprised that Marvel Contest of Champions might have new content related to Daredevil: Born Again in it’s March update. However, the popular mobile game is switching things up.
This month, Kabam introduces “The Dark Phoenix Saga.” As part of the event, original X-men Jean Grey and Sentinel-born human Bastion will be the next entrants in the Contest. The former will be available starting March 13th while the latter can be obtained beginning March 27th.
In addition, players can join Jean Grey — along with other fellow X-men — to battle variants in an all-new explosive storyline where unique rewards can be earned. Here, the Dark Phoenix finds the Battlerealm as “the perfect place to burn down and build anew with an abundance of power and possibility.”
Jean Grey and Bastion aren’t the only new characters joining the game; original character Lumatrix also enters the fray. They are another Eidol, who are part of the ongoing Founders storyline that first began last December. The tale dives into the history of the Battlerealm. The Eidol Champions have their own sourcing compared to the regular characters. Lumatrix is available starting now until June 4th.
Finally, to celebrate International Women’s Day, Kabam has partnered with seven of the publisher’s developers and content creators to see which Champion should be retooled. Each developer or content creator will represent a different Champion, and players will complete Solo Objectives and participate in Realm Events to choose which of the seven will reign supreme.
Marvel Contest of Champions is currently available for download now.
