Watch This: 2000 AD Offers An Intimate Interview With Simon Bisley

by Tito W. James

2000 AD Brand Manager Michael Molcher has a lengthy chat with legendary artist Simon Bisley known for his work on Lobo and Slaine the Horned God. Thanks to my British peers here at Comicon, I was able to discover the madcap world of 2000 AD and Bisley’s badass artwork. In the interview Bisley opens up about feelings of isolation afters his father’s passing. His humorous encounter with a biker gang as a teenager cemented his love for the freedom of outsider culture. The artist’s approach to his work is very instinctual and draws from everything from Frank Frazetta to Salvador Dali. Thought-provoking and funny, this interview shows that’s there’s more to the art than meets the eye.
