Webcomic Weekly: Paul Schroeder’s ‘Schroeder’s Ahoy’

Welcome once more to Webcomic Weekly, where I get to show you some great comics online. This time, it’s Paul Schroeder‘s Schroeder’s Ahoy:
Yes, I know it’s increasingly ridiculous calling this Webcomic Weekly, you know, seeing as the last was posted on 4th February. It’s just that Webcomic Monthly doesn’t work as well as Webcomic Weekly. Heh, maybe Webcomic Whenever?
Anyway, today I happened upon Schroeder’s Ahoy, and it was a very good day indeed.
Paul Schroeder, Aka Mooncat, was a comic maker from the ’90s, maybe the ’80s as well. But I hadn’t heard anything of him for the longest time. Then I discovered Schroeder’s Ahoy…
Paul lives in Salford with Louise and their children, and has been making these Shroeder’s Ahoy comics for quite some time, beautiful little loose pages done on Sundays, recounting something small, something done in the week, just perfectly lovely autobiographical comics.
There’s a real sense of the wonders of everyday life here, a pastoral scene in comics, just the world passing by, the seasons shifting on as we move through the months captured so lovingly. Definitely worth a look. These are beautiful, beautiful comics.
