Image Announce Spicy New Anime-Inspired Series ‘Ghost Pepper’ By Ludo Lullabi

Skybound/Image Comics have announced new sci-fi/action series Ghost Pepper from writer/artist/letterer Ludo Lullabi (Transformers, Battle Chasers) and colourist Adriano Lucas (Destro). And with that announcement comes a first look and covers. But first some words from creator Ludo Lullabi:

“After spending the past few years working on exciting worlds in video games and comics, I’m thrilled to finally share a universe of my own. With Ghost Pepper, I wanted to tell a story that’s both explosive and full of heart—blending the energy of creators I grew up with, like Otomo and Shirow, with more recent inspirations. Huge thanks to Skybound, Ben, Adriano, and everyone who jumped on board this new adventure. I hope you’ll enjoy exploring this world as much as I’ve enjoyed bringing it to life.”   

Now for the synopsis and that preview I promised:

“Humanity survived a monstrous extinction-level threat, but the world isn’t better for everyone. Every day Loloi hits the road to deliver her delicious cooking to the masses, outsmarting her treacherous competition and staying one step ahead of the massive robots “protecting” them all. But everything changes when she serves a mysterious warrior named Ash, whose secrets might just save the world…if his superhuman strength doesn’t destroy it first.”  

As well as a main cover by Lullabi, there are covers by artists Stanley “Artgerm” Lau (open-to-order), Kael Ngu (1:10 incentive “wanted poster” variant series), Joe Madureira (1:25 incentive variant), André Araújo and Chris O’Halloran (1:50 incentive variant),  and Yasmine Putri (1:100 incentive variant). Plus a blank sketch cover variant to look out for too.

Ghost Pepper #1 is out on Wednesday, July 16th, 2025.
