A Samurai In Scotland: ‘Tornado’ Trailer

Set in 1790, Tornado follows the journey of a young woman who must confront the violent thieves who are chasing her. This is the newest action drama from director John Maclean (Slow West) and offers a unique take on the samurai genre. As someone who eats up chambara films, I think Tornado looks like a breath of fresh air. It’s always interesting to see how multiple cultures intersect with each other.
Tornado is written and directed by John Maclean, with cinematography by Robbie Ryan. The film features actors Jack Lowden, Tim Roth, Takehiro Hira and Köki. It is produced by Leonora Darby, James Harris, and Mark Lane.
