New Story Announced For ‘DC Pride 2025’ Anthology

DC has announced an additional new story to be included in this June’s DC Pride 2025. The story is an autobiographical one by Jenny Blake, and billed as similar in tone and content to Kevin Conroy’s ‘Finding Batman’ (art by J. Bone) in 2022 and Phil Jimenez’s ‘Spaces’ (art by Giulio Macaione) in 2024. The story is described as “a poignant exploration of Blake’s identity, authenticity, and the universal quest for self-understanding”.
Blake began using the name Jenny Blake, personally and professionally, in February 2025.
She has worked in comics for over 50 years. Blake has previously worked, before her transition, at DC Comics, co-creating the character Black Lightning/Jefferson Pierce with artist Trevor Von Eeden. Speaking about her story, Blake said:
“When I came out as transgender, the comics community was overwhelmingly loving and supportive. Being asked to contribute to this anthology was unexpected and so affirming. I’ve done a lot of cool things in my 50-plus years in comics, but this story is one of the things I’m most proud of. I see myself in this story and I hope readers see something of themselves in it. I had a wonderful time writing my story, and I hope the readers enjoy it as much as I did.”

DC Pride 2025 is out on June 4th from DC Comics.
