by Richard Bruton

Welcome to The Art of Politics, showing you the world’s greatest political cartoonists doing what they do best…

Ella Baron sums up the month

IT’S TRUMP, TRUMP, TRUMP, ALL THE WAY…

Yes, Donald dominated the political cartooning landscape yet again, as his tariffs came in, stocks an shares plummeted, the world markets went into turmoil, and then the chaos just kept going…

AND THEN THERE’S THE WAR IN UKRAINE…

Remember the 53 times Trump told you he’d end the war in Ukraine in 24 hours? Well, apparently, that was a joke. [CNN fact check the 53 times].

But as war rages on and innocents and combatants are lost on both sides, the lack of a real peace deal and any lasting solution remains… and the US government seems to be on the verge of upping and going home if a deal’s not done…

A UK SUPREME COURT RULING THAT CRUELLY ATTACKS TRANS RIGHTS…

The UK Supreme Court ruling in April was a horrible blow for Trans men and women, their allies, and anyone who believed that the UK was moving in the right direction regarding the rights of minorities in Britain – a group who were already marginalised and vulnerable now have less rights than they did last month.

The unanimous judgment ruled that the legal definition of a woman in the Equality Act 2010 did not include transgender women who hold gender recognition certificates. It’s just a terrible ruling, one that hurts people I know and love, and it’s just plain wrong, driven by fear, driven by hatred. To all of you having to go through this, we’re with you, we’ll fight with you, for you.
