‘Blue Protocol: Star Resonance’ Comes To The West

It seems like forever since Blue Protocol was first announced by Bandai-Namco. Still, the MMORPG’s gorgeous anime art style had gamers everywhere wondering when they would finally get to play it, until the title was closed down last August in Japan with the Western release canceled. Now, thanks to publisher A PLUS JAPAN developer BOKURA licensing the game from Bandai Namco, Western fans will finally get a chance to play the game later this year when its reborn as Blue Protocol: Star Resonance
A PLUS JAPAN has not only confirmed the game will launch in the West, but that fans will be able to enjoy the game cross-platform between mobile and PC. It’s the kind of forward-thinking that will hopefully allow the game to find an audience.

In a world of crowded MMOs, it’s easy to wonder if Blue Protocol will experience enough success to make continuing to publish the title worth it. The game’s visuals are a little less impressive in the post-Genshin Impact era, where everything has some anime-esque style going for it. Perhaps being a classic MMO and not another gacha action RPG will give this game a chance at success. If nothing else, it’s nice to have some happy news in the gaming industry for once.
