‘Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas: Long Live The Pumpkin Queen’ Adaptation Arrives In June

A new nightmare (before Christmas) is headed to comic shops next month.

Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas: Long Live The Pumpkin Queen is Dynamite’s graphic novel adaptations of the Pumpkin Queen novel by Shea Ernshaw. Liz Marsham takes the creative reigns, converting the novel into its comic book form while Alessio Petillo and Ismael Canales handle the art.

Picking up sometime after the film, Sally has made her escape and is married to Jack. Now the Pumpkin Queen, an official role in Halloween Town starts to feel as confining as any of Dr. Finkelstein’s manipulations. But then she and Zero find a door to Dream Town, and what she discovers there could unravel the world. Will she muster the strength to save Halloween Town?

“I really enjoyed the opportunity to work on this compelling story,” Marsham said in a statement. “Shea Ernshaw wrote everything I could have needed: a compelling story about iconic characters I have loved as a fan for decades, an exciting mix of the settings we know and gorgeously-described new landscapes, enthralling action, an emotional journey that is both fantastical and deeply relatable, and, of course, the delightfully spooky vibes we all associate with Halloween Town. It was a pleasure to help add a new dimension to an already rich tale, and the art team has done a wonderful job bringing it all to life.”
