Bonedust Press Launches ‘The Traitor & The Wretch’ On Kickstarter

by Anton Kromoff

Welcome to the table,

I always get excited when talented creators announce new work. Jasmine Walls, author of The Last Session, one of the best comics I have ever had the pleasure of reading, has a publishing company called Bonedust Press. They have launched their debut illustrated novel, The Traitor & The Wretch, on Kickstarter. Let’s get into it.

The Traitor & the Wretch is not your traditional romantasy. It follows the story of two doomed henchmen who are trying to outrun their tragic fates and are forced to rely on each other to escape certain doom and find their happy endings.

Written by the wildly talented Walls, with 15 illustrations by Rowan MacColl, and cover art by Amy Phillips, the book is currently in the funding stages for its initial print run over on Kickstarter.

It has not gone without notice that one of the main characters is missing a good bit of their right arm, giving us a compelling romantasy story with one of the leads being visibly disabled. Representation is so important, and it feels good to have such a dialed-in author working on a project, as I know firsthand, Jasmine puts their all into seeing that representation of characters is served with authenticity and care.

The book is currently funding the initial print run on Kickstarter, with lush soft-touch covers, shiny silver details, and 375+ pages of story and art. The campaign ends on July 10th, with special stretch goals including exclusive guest artist prints and custom patterned inner covers with matching bookmarks.

I’m excited to see this book get funded and can’t wait to read it myself! Go check it out at the link!

Until next time, I will read anything Jasmine writes… I think you should do the same.
