SDCC 2025: Dynamite Shares ‘Vampirella Archives’ Vol. 4 Details

Dynamite’s Vampirella Archives ventures fourth.

The company announced details of the latest in its paperback collections of Vampi’s original Warren Publishing comic book run. Volume 4 reprints Vampirella #22-28, roughly all of 1973’s worth of issues. The collection will also solo new feature from the 1972 annual, what Dynamite calls “one of the most important stories in the Daughter of Drakulon’s history.”

The tale, “Origin of Vampirella” by J.R. Cochran and Jose Gonzalez, expands Vampi’s backstory to 15 pages of greater detail and stands as the first major retelling of her original introduction years prior.

Gonzalez continues his artistic lead with these issues, although Ramon Escolano offers pencils for issue #26’s “Demons in the Fog!” Curiously, though, Gonzalez inked the story. Other contributors to Vol. 4 includes Steve Englehart, who pens the lead stories in issues #22-23, longtime Warren editor Bill DuBay, and others like Doug Moench, Tony Isabella, Steve Skeates, Esteban Maroto, Jose Bea, Ramon Torrents, and Rafael Auraleon.

As always, the Vampirella Archives are set for release on a bi-monthly basis with Vol. 5 promising to introduce Pantha and work by Bernie Wrightson. In the meantime, check out some pages from Vol. 4, due out this October:
