SDCC 2025: Dynamite To Introduce “Black Bag” Variants This October

Dynamite is adding an air or mystery to its offerings.
The company announced Thursday it will introduce “black bag” variants for collectors and retailers this fall. As the name implies, they will be “encased in an opaque plastic bag, with a mystery variant inside for fans to discover.” Inside, one might find a “virgin” variant — typically valued at $50 — a line art cover, a foil edition, or even a metal cover. No matter what might be inside the black bag, the cost will be $10 per bagged copy.
The program will extend to select Dynamite titles starting with October’s DIE!NAMITE: Blood Red #1 and Vampirella #8, shortly after the regular issues release.
Additional details on which titles will have black bagged releases will be available in Dynamite’s Dispatches solicitations catalog each month moving forward.
