SDCC 2025: Dynamite, Greg Pak, And Eder Messias Get On The Road With ‘Supernatural’ This October

Then: Supernatural was a 15-season  WB/CW television series about two brothers riding through the country hunting monsters, saving the world, and trying to find some peace.

Now: Supernatural is back on the road courtesy of Dynamite.

The company announced Monday that it has acquired the license to the Warner Bros. Television series and is ready to tell new stories of Sam and Dean Winchester (played on the series by Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, respectively) in a comic book series by Greg Pak and Eder Messias. The monster hunters return to the road in Dean’s Dodge Charger, affectionately known as “Baby,” for more tales of urban myths and monsters in the American heartland set between season 1 and 2 of the television series. As the new comic opens, the Winchesters arrive in a “decaying rust belt town” where mysterious fires seemed targeted at a local factory beset by dying employees and a CEO is “suspiciously well-prepared.”

In a statement, Pak said, “A couple of dudes in a cool car chasing monsters, demons, and ghosts? Tongue-in-cheek, but deeply-felt emotional story of sibling rivalry and family tragedy? Hugely fun, anti-authoritarian heroes and vibes? Look, I was hooked with the ghosts, but I’m all in. Fans of Supernatural know the show is a blast and it’s an enormous pleasure and privilege to be able to dig into this wild world, especially with Eder Messias. We’re going for fun and grounded, and then we’re going to absolutely cut loose when the time comes. I can’t wait to show more, and thanks so much to everyone for coming along for the ride!”

“When I received the invitation to work on the Supernatural comic book series, I almost fell out of my chair!,” Messias added. “It is by far my favorite television series. Here in Brazil, on Saturday nights, they would show four episodes in a row. After that, we would spend the week talking to friends about the next episodes. I’m looking forward to bringing this story to fans and giving it my best!”
