Marvel Comics Celebrates The Muppets 70th Anniversary With New Variant Covers

At first glance, they may not seem like a great match. But once you look closer you might realize that Marvel and the Muppets are like peanut butter and chocolate- two great tastes that go together. And as such a new set of variant covers are an amazing match for fans.
The Muppets- cultural and comedy icons- celebrate their 70’s anniversary this year. As such, their corporate sibling, Marvel Comics, is celebrating them with a new set of variant covers in October. The covers find Kermit, Fozzie and the gang disguised as some of our favorite Marvel heroes, in homages to some of the greatest Marvel covers in history.
The Muppets are some of my earliest pop culture loves. I still have memories of waking up to Muppet Babies on Saturday mornings, and reruns of The Muppet Show in syndication. The gang always had their tongues firmly planted in cheek, and even better, their finger on the pulse of pop culture. These very silly covers fall right in with what you might think of the Muppets, while creating some very unique and fun Marvel imagery as well.
