MLB Launches ‘Diamond Hero Edition’ Superhero Comics-Themed 59FIFTY Hats

One of my absolute favorite things is when geeks from wildly different fandoms collaborate to geek out together. On a Venn diagram of two or more geeky interests, the areas that overlap are money. When manufacturers, organizations, agents, and creators realize this, consumers get some pretty awesome products and events.

One such product found its way onto my timeline (and subsequently my porch) this week. Many Major League Baseball teams host superhero themed events and giveaways. This week, New Era took it a step further with the 2025 Diamond Hero Edition 59FIFTY Fitted Hat.

With its high crown and structured fit, the 59FIFTY is a true icon, just like the San Francisco Giants. The raised embroidered graphics and contrast-color undervisor add a touch of geeky comics-themed flair to the classic on-field cap of the eight-time World Series champions.

I should also mention there is a marginally less cool snap-back available in the same line with New Era’s 2025 MLB Diamond Hero Edition A-Frame 9FORTY Adjustable Hat. I’m not a huge fan of snap-backs, and on this particular line, I prefer the classic SF logo and the asymmetrical alternating art panels on the 59FIFTY, but these also exist.
