Mind-Blowing Music: BabyMetal – Metal Fourth
by Tito W. James
BabyMetal is a Japanese band that fuses J-Pop and Heavy Metal. The band members started performing as young as 12-years-old and gained popularity in the 2010s. After 15 years, BabyMetal has gone from being a musical oddity to a worldwide sensation. Members, Su-Metal, MoaMetal, and recently added, MomoMetal have grown up and are now performing at the top of their game.
BabyMetal’s latest album Metal Fourth features collaborations with many other artists including Poppy, Electric Callboy, Slaughter to Prevail, Bloodywood, Polyphia, Spiritbox, and Tom Morello. Metal Fourth can be best described as “Your new favorite band teaming up with your new favorite band.”
I had the opportunity to see BabyMetal live in Boston and the energy they brought to the stage was electrifying. The crowd was alive with old-school Metal-Dads taking their daughters to see their first rock concert. The creative goal of BabyMetal is to unite the world through a fusion of J-Pop and Heavy Metal. Judging by the global passion and enthusiasm for this unconventional band, they’re succeeding!
