Return To Marvel’s Landmark Crossover In November’s ‘X-Men: Tales From The Age Of Apocalypse’

by Tony Thornley

Thirty years ago, the most successful line in the comics industry was cancelled and relaunched in an unexpected alternate timeline- Age of Apocalypse. As part of the year long celebration of the event, Marvel is reprinting four key issues from the event in a special extra-sized one shot.

The Age of Apocalypse redefined the comics industry, inspiring a variety of stories over the years, including this year’s X-Men of Apocalypse and Age of Revelation (ironic considering Apocalypse means revelation). X-Men: Tales from the Age of Apocalypse will reprint the debut issues of four of the event’s series- Amazing X-Men, Astonishing X-Men, Weapon X, and Factor-X.

You may know the X-Men, but the Age of Apocalypse changed everything. With Charles Xaiver dead long before the X-Men were ever born. Heroes were villains and heroes were villains. Who were the X-Men of this reality, and what became of Cyclops, Wolverine, Jean Grey and more?
