‘Star Trek’, Cigarettes And Swears: Previewing Horror/Sci-Fi Graphic Novel ‘The Shadow Planet’

The Shadow Planet graphic novel by writer Giovanni Barbieri and artist Gianluca Pagliarani is a Lovecraftian sci-fi/horror coming out next month from Image Comics. And so they’ve decide to share a first look at interiors that we are happy to pass onmto you, along with a synopsis and creator quotes:
“The crew of the rocket Vidar lands on a barren planet to rescue a lost patrol, but what they find can destroy mankind. The Shadow Planet is a unique take on retrofuturism perfect for fans of science-fiction horror mashup films like Alien, The Thing, Annihilation, and Event Horizon.”
And it’s most certainly not for the easily offended. as Barbieri staes:
“It’s some kind of Star Trek with cigarettes, sex and bad language.”
Pagliarani added:
“It’s a bonanza of rusty rockets, clunky space-suits and hideous monsters.”
The Shadow Planet trade paperback is out at comic book shops on Wednesday, September 24th and in bookstores on Tuesday, October 7th from Image Comics.
