‘King Spawn’ #50 1:1000 Covers To Showcase Original Art Sketches By Todd McFarlane And More

As we approach the publication of King Spawn #50 we also learn more about the 50/50/50 Program. An incentive that sees King Spawn #50 Cover H feature a 1:1000 Raw Pencil Virgin Variant; an an original, hand-drawn Spawn sketch inserted directly into the book. Fifty orders will receive sketches by Todd McFarlane himself. Other artists contributing original art sketches, randomly assigned, are Jonathan Glapion, Carlo Barberi, Brett Booth, Stephen Segovia, and Jason Shawn Alexander. Plus, every copy of Cover H will be signed by McFarlane and will include a CGC Certificate verifying that both the book and signature are eligible for CGC’s Signature Series program as well as confirm the authenticity of the inserted sketch. McFarlane has committed to not sign this cover again, ensuring these copies remain limited and highly collectible.

McFarlane commented:

“The rarity of the low print run of the 1:1,000 along with doing a batch of sketches is not something we do. So, to be able to combine two retailer incentives into one (the rare book and sketch) for those retailers that decide to participate, is a way of me trying to make sure they get their value back and mor. There is a strong chance that less than 100 of the Cover H books will be printed, which will make it one of the most difficult books to find in the future.”

McFarlane is also teaming up with CGC for a special collaboration celebrating the conclusion of the 50/50/50 Program. More details will be revealed at the end of September.
