Pre-Orders Open For Fanhome’s ‘1:8 Scale 1989 Batmobile Build-Up Subscription’
by Brendan M. Allen
Fanhome is now accepting pre-orders for their new build up subscription for the legendary 1989 Batmobile, as seen in Tim Burton’s Batman. The 1:8 scale model meticulously recreates the iconic vehicle with all the sleek styling and high-tech gadgets that make it Batman’s ultimate crime fighting tool.

The finished model clocks in at an incredible 29.5” long, consisting of diecast metal and ABS components. Just like in the film, it has retractable side wings and roof canopy, a functioning front turbine, a realistic dashboard, rotating wheels, and an opening trunk. There are retractable machine guns, a disc launcher, and a grapnel. A remote control triggers LED lighting and sound effects.

Each build stage comes with an informational magazine that dives into the secrets behind the Tim Burton, Joel Shumacher, and Christopher Nolan Batman films, the legacy of Batman from Detective Comics through the 1960s TV series to the big screen, and the Dark Knight’s comics keys.

I’ve personally assembled a couple of these Fanhome build-up subscriptions now. I’m just three deliveries away from completing the E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial build up, and I’m just a few months into the 1:2 scale Darth Vader build up*. The level of detail and care that’s put into screen accuracy on all of these subscriptions is incredible.
