TGS 2025: Annapurna Interactive Announces Three New Games
by Sage Ashford
Publisher Annapurna Interactive recently held their own digital event, pairing it with the Tokyo Game Show. Clocking in at around ten minutes, they managed to introduce three brand-new titles without wasting anyone’s time.
First was D-Topia, coming from Marumittu Games. It takes place in a distant future where humanity has created a utopia thanks to artificial intelligence. However, even in this supposed utopia, humanity still struggles with problems. Players take on the role of a “Facilitator” helping people with those problems in this puzzle-adventure game.
D-topia is scheduled to launch in 2026 for PlayStation, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, and on Steam, the Epic Games Store, and the Microsoft Store.
In People of Note, developer Iridium Studios has created a turn-based RPG with a focus on musicals. Cadence is a pop singer in search of a band to take on the Noteworthy Song Contest. While doing so, both she and her band discover something seeks to disrupt the world’s musical energies, leaving it up to them to save music.
As expected of a turn-based RPG centering music, players can time their attacks to the game’s musical beat to deal more damage. They’ll also be able to unleash music based attacks, including those that combine different genres. And in a surprising development choice, People of Note will offer a completely customizable game that makes both environmental puzzles and the game’s combat optional. Opting out entirely of the difficulty discussion is a new one, but it might catch on.
Easily the highlight of the show, the biggest problem with People of Note is that this game has potential to be a massive hit and it wasn’t revealed in front of nearly enough eyes. Still, the game is scheduled to launch for Xbox Series, PlayStation 5, Epic Games Store, Steam, and the Microsoft Store in 2026.
Lastly, developer Yarn Owl unveiled their new project, Demi and the Fractured Dream. In this game, players enter the world of Sommus, a realm haunted by a trio of Accursed Beasts of legend. They’ll take on the role of Demi, a being from the Void who will travel across the land of Sommus to battle those same Accursed Beasts to save the world.
More of a traditional action-adventure game, Demi and the Fractured Dream will hopefully satisfy people who need an action fix but want their games to look like updated versions of classic PS2 mascot games. That’s not an insult–there’s definitely a growing market for exactly that kind of game, especially as pixel art action games have become a saturated market.
Demi and the Fractured Dream launches for Xbox Series, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch consoles, Steam, Epic Games Store, and the Microsoft Store in 2026.
For a ten minute Direct, Annapurna Interactive really brought it, setting things up for a great Tokyo Game Show later this week.
