MagicCon: Atlanta 2025 — Earths Mightiest Heroes Come To The Table

We love our comics over here at Comicon.com. I mean, it’s in our name. So, the announcement of more Magic: The Gathering comic-adjacent cards coming out of MagicCon: Atlanta 2025 is more than likely going to have more than just me a little excited. Let’s get into it…
Hot on the heels of the Magic: The Gathering X Spider-Man set, available while supplies last at this link, we have some news that more of the Marvel Universe will be making an appearance at the gaming table.
I first suspected we would be getting more cards from the Marvel Multiverse when it was revealed that an Infinity Stone was coming to the Spider-Man set. The cosmic foil infinity soul stone is exclusively in the Collector Boosters of the Spider-Man set, but there are other treatments of The Soul Stone card also available that do not resemble the digital render above, so even if you do not grab a collector booster, you will still have a chance to get the card, albeit less sparkly and such.
The bigger implication to me, though, was that we would have to be getting more stones. If you are going to do one, you may as well do them all. You’ll also need a gauntlet, a hand to put that gauntlet on, and so on … and so forth … and…
I was delighted to be proven correct, as it was just announced that there would be Magic: The Gathering – Marvel Super Heroes set to release in June of 2026.
The reported “massive” set showcases characters from across the Marvel Universe, ranging from famous superhero teams to iconic villains bent on world domination.
For my Green players who roll with squirl decks, the image of Squirrel Girl alone is going to send the fandom into a frenzy, pondering over the overrun possibilities and endless token creation to play into the themes of the meta.
I am just excited to see what kind of card count we are going to have with something labeled as a “massive.” Half the fun of the hobby for me is collecting. If I have cards that I actually want to chase like some Ghost Rider or Doctor Strange weirdness, I’m for sure going to be trying my best to track those down.
