DC & Marvel Announce Crossover Chaos (Featuring Webs Of Steel) Continues In 2026

After twenty years, the Marvel and DC universes met again last month, and there’s no denying Deadpool/Batman was a hit (even if it was a bit rocky). Now the two publishers have revealed that the crossovers will continue, with an early announcement for two more in 2026.
Announced earlier today, to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of the first DC and Marvel crossover, the publishers are teaming up for several special reprints and new stories. In January, DC will publish a facsimile edition of Superman Vs. The Amazing Spider-Man #1 as Treasury Edition 50th Anniversary of Superman vs. The Amazing Spider-Man #1, reprinting 1976’s crossover classic that started the cross-universe capers. That will be followed by a new facsimile edition of Marvel Treasury Edition #28 (aka Spider-Man & Superman) as DC and Marvel Present: Superman and Spider-Man Treasury Edition #1, bring both long out of print specials back to shops for a new audience.
The publishers also followed that up with the news that the next (much speculated upon) cross-company crossovers will be Superman/Spider-Man #1 from DC in March and Spider-Man/Superman #1 from Marvel in April. The two specials will feature brand new stories starring the comics juggernauts. Creative teams for both specials will be announced in the near future (maybe at the upcoming New York Comic Con?).
Frankly, as a big fan of Spidey and Superman, I’m very excited by this announcement. I half expected the new crossovers to follow the same trend of Deadpool/Batman, featuring Marvel’s biggest star plus the DC character whose profile increased the most since JLA/Avengers (just like Deadpool and Batman but in reverse). That would have meant Harley Quinn/Spider-Man, but hey, I’m not a Harley fan, so this is a win for me personally.
As for creative teams, I couldn’t even begin to guess. I would love to see Dan Mora, RB Silva, Jorge Jimenez and/or Pepe Larraz drawing the specials, but writers could be anyone like recent Spider-Man writer Zeb Wells, Superman legend Jeph Loeb (who’s also written several classic Spider-Man stories) and literally anyone in between. So we’ll see.
