NYCC 2025: Liam Johnson And Jordan Michael Johnson Return For ‘Vampirella Winter Special’

Johnson and Johnson (no relation) are at it again with the Daughter of Drakulon.

The Vampirella Halloween Horror creative team — writer Liam Johnson and artist Jordan Michael Johnson — are reuniting for Dynamite’s newly announced Vampirella Winter Special. In the 28-pages “Young Blood”, a patrolling Vampi flying above New York City is snared by a surprising amount of tranquilizer rounds. She soon learns that an “enigmatic and conniving billionaire has captured her and plans to extract her supernatural blood resources for his own pursuit of timeless aesthetics and eternal life.”

Escaping the billionaire’s subbasement will be no easy task either as she comes to blows with armed guards,  feral vampires enslaved for the same purposes as her, and more. Then there is the rich man himself. Is his quest for her blood really just about immortality?

“It’s such an honour and a privilege to be back playing in Vampi’s world,” writer Liam Johnson said in a statement. “This time around, Jordan and I really wanted to crank up the action and let Vampirella kick some butt. Let’s make her someone’s prey before she shows the world what a dangerous predator she can really be!”

Supporting the special issue will be covers from Mike Rooth, Joseph Michael Linsner, Celina, and cosplayer Joanie Brosas.

Vampirella Winter Special arrives in shops this January.
