Get A First Look At Skybound’s ‘G.I. Joe’ #13 By Joshua Williamson And Tom Reilly

Skybound, Image Comics and collaborators, Hasbro, have shared a first look and variant covers for G.I. Joe #13, kicking off the menacingly titled “Dreadnok War”. Writer Joshua Williamson (Duke, Cobra Commander), is reunited with Skybound-exclusive artist Tom Reilly (Duke), and they are joined by Eisner Award-winning colourist Jordie Bellaire (Absolute Wonder Woman) and letterer Rus Wooton (Invincible Universe: Battle Beast).
“When Cobra Commander is betrayed by one of his closest allies, he’s targeted for revenge by the Dreadnoks! But in his darkest hour, the only one who can save Cobra is … Duke? The team-up you never expected kicks off The Dreadnok War, a story arc so action-packed that it will ship bi-weekly!”
Williamson spoke more about introducing the Dreadnoks into the mix:
“Ever since we started talking about the Energon Universe, we had an idea of showing how there were different factions in the G.I. Joe mythology. That it wasn’t going to always be G.I. Joe versus Cobra. We wanted the Dreadnoks to be its own challenge—but not just for GI Joe but for Cobra. I’m pumped to be starting this arc now. It’s one that we were all really excited about from the start. Tom and Jordie have been killing it on all the pages in this storyline. It’s non-stop action and adventure with an Energon Universe twist. Get ready for the unexpected!”
Tom Reilly added:
