NYCC 2025: Dynamite To Continue With ‘Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas’ In New Series This January

What’s this? Another Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas comic book from Dynamite.

While the company’s first foray into Halloween Town, Long Live the Pumpkin Queen The Graphic Novel, continues to rack up sales and crossover success in the bookstore market, Dynamite is ready to continue the momentum with Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas: The Shiver of Christmas Town from writer Torunn Grønbekk, artist Edu Menna, colorist Adriano Augusto, and letterer Taylor Esposito.

The four-issue series features Sally and Lock, Shock, and Barrell as Dr. Finkelstein plans a new creature in the wake of Sally’s rebellion. It turns out to be a pet and he tasks Sally with its care. But the trick-or-treating trio has plans of their own for the creature as they make their way to Christmas Town.

“It has been a joy to play in and contribute to this world,” Grønbekk said in a statement. “In our story, little goes to plan: tricks are played, treats are had, and along the way, Dr. Finkelstein’s new creation Shiver discovers the true magic of Halloween. Artist Edu Menna captures the gothic, whimsical atmosphere of the movie so beautifully, and I hope the book will introduce a new generation of readers to the enchanting world of Disney Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas.”

Supporting the debut issue are covers from Jae Lee, Soo Lee, and Alan Quah. Also, fans of Burton’s Nightmare will be able to obtain a special variant on each issue featuring art from the film.
