The King In Black Returns To The Marvel Universe And He’s Bringing New Knullified Variant Covers With Him

by Tony Thornley

In Venom #250, readers saw the return of Knull, the King in Black. This return is building up to a massive story next year, but Marvel Comics isn’t going to wait until then to celebrate his return.

All through December, Knullified versions of your favorite heroes and villains will grace the covers of twenty different Marvel books. Drawn by some of the industry’s best artists, these covers twist the Earth’s mightiest heroes into twisted servants of the God of Symbiotes.

Emerging from the void during Donny Cates and Ryan Stegman’s seminal run on Venom, Knull became the ultimate supervillain of the decade, headlining the 2020 crossover, King in Black. It took the combined might of Marvel’s mightiest heroes to stop him and his symbiote army from ruling Earth. Now, he begins a new reign of terror, but first, he must seize his throne back from a startling usurper — Hela, the newly proclaimed Queen In Black! Follow his path of destruction to amass new power in Knull , a five-issue limited series by current Venom scribe Al Ewing, rising star writer Tom Waltz, and superstar artist Juanan Ramirez.

Check out nineteen of the twenty covers and watch for your favorites in December from Marvel Comics.
