You Don’t Have To Go To The Upside Down For WizKids ‘Stranger Things’ Minis

by Anton Kromoff

Welcome to the table,

Stranger Things Season 5 is so close! WizKids, never being one to miss out on a rad opportunity to craft fun minis, has announced an 18-piece miniature collection based on the iconic masterpiece in nostalgic storytelling.

Now I’m totally on board with bringing the Stranger Things monsters to my table. I already have two or three miniatures of Vecna, and the show version being suspended by his weird upside-down tendrils will go right along with those.

I for sure am excited about the variations of the Demogorgon. With the Demogorgon being a creature that has multiple life stages, WizKids has provided a handful of variations on the creature.

The quadrupedal version reminds me of a mutated version of the Ethereal Marauder. If I pull four or five of these, I could have a nice little pack of these hound-like things to harrow my players with. I also really appreciate that the bases are sized for classic TTRPG play.

The closed-mouth version and the open-mouth version are going to allow fielding a handful of these against my players, giving some really cool visual dynamic to the tabletop space.

The Stranger Things booster boxes are set to contain two pre-painted minis. One will be sat upon the large 40mm base, and the other will either be sat upon the smaller 20mm base or the medium 25mm base. The minis are also set to be pre-painted and ready to roll right out of the box.

I don’t know too much more at this time, but you can bet the moment I can get my hands on these, I will be rushing back here to report to you just how cool these minis are.

For now, I hope you enjoy the upcoming season of Stranger Things and this journey that feels like in a large way helped D&D and other tabletop games become a much bigger part of the larger pop-culture conversation.

Until next time, Eddie Rules!
