2025 Gift Guide For Gamers: WizKids ‘Heroes Of Hellfire’

It’s one of my favorite times of the year! Those brilliant dark days of winter when the world gets a little quieter, the nights get a little longer, and I can lurk about my library like some holiday lich remembering all the fun TTRPG things I’m thankful have brought me comfort and joy over the dark days of this past year.
This is also an opportunity for me to call out some of the coolest stuff I have found for you, my dear readers, so you can add these offerings to your gift lists, allowing you to serve as merry little elves and not fall into lockstep with the police state promoted by the fat old elven warlord who rules the gift giving season with a crimson fist.
With the latest, and more than likely last season of Netflix’s Stranger Things hitting the streaming service this month, it’s no surprise that my pals at WizKids have brought some cool Stranger Things-adjacent offerings to the table just in time for the holidays.
Heroes of Hellfire is a rad little set of miniatures that capture the characters from Eddie Munson’s final campaign in pre-painted, ready-to-play size to fit at both your own home campaign table or, if you have picked it up, to go alongside Dungeons & Dragons recently released Welcome To The Hellfire Club collaborative 3-6 player board game.
The set contains Lady Applejack, Tayr the Paladin, Nog the Dwarf, Sundar the Bold, Will the Wise, and, in my humble opinion, the star of this set, a classic D&D Vecna mini that is painted up in a pewter finish to resemble old school metal minis that we see in the show.
The classic Vecna mini makes me smile because I’m a big fan of variants, and we have recently seen this sculpt in the D&D Icons of the Realms: 50th Anniversary Booster Brick alongside the updated 5th Edition variant of Vecna.
While we saw the classic Vecna mini in the epic colourways I have come to expect from WizKids in the 50th booster boxes, this “pewter” treatment is such a rad little touch and makes me want more metallic-looking chase minis in other sets. A Demogorgon mini, akin to the one we saw in Season 1 of Stranger Things, would be stunning to say the least.
This is the type of collection that really speaks to the full spectrum of players, fans, and collectors, not only providing some interesting minis for traditional table play, but also giving fans of the series and Dark Horse comics about the Hellfire Club a rad little collection of minis to decorate their space with.
Until next time, the retail price of this set is excellent, giving some six minis for your money and making a very versatile gift for anyone on your list who exists in the fandom space that spans D&D, Stranger Things, and random rad nerd stuff.
