Marvel’s Cosmic Giants Face Legendary Kaiju In New ‘Godzilla: Infinity Roar’ Variant Covers
by Tony Thornley
Godzilla has already torn through the Marvel Universe, and in February he looks to the stars. Alongside the new Godzilla: Infinity Roar, Marvel Comics will put their greatest cosmic heroes- and threats- against the greatest Kaiju in the universe in a series of variant covers.

In last year’s smash hit limited series Godzilla Destroys The Marvel Universe, the heroes of Earth saved the day by launching Godzilla into space. But now, they’ve just created a bigger problem. Godzilla: Infinity Roar reunites creators Gerry Duggan and Javier Garron and adds star artist Ig Guera to the team for five issues of cosmic monster chaos.
Exiled to a distant planet, Godzilla is reawakened by Knull, the God of Symbiotes! As Knull fans the flames of Godzilla’s anger, a new campaign for galactic conquest begins with the King of the Monsters and the King in Black at the helm! Will the cosmos be able to band together to stop the two juggernauts, or will a new era of death and destruction descend upon the cosmos?
“Well, the Marvel heroes tried to handle the problem ethically, but they only made the crisis worse by exiling Godzilla in space for a bad actor like Knull to take advantage of. This will mini will really surprise people — it’s not going to end how you think it will,” Duggan teased in a recent interview with ComicBook.com.
Alongside each issue of the limited series, superstar Marvel artists Paulo Siqueira, Junggeun Yoon, Dave Rapoza, E.J. Su, and Mark Brooks put cosmic Marvel heroes and villains face to face against Toho’s greatest Kaiju. The match-ups include:
· Captain Marvel Vs. Mothra
· Galactus Vs. King Ghidorah
· Cosmic Ghost Rider Vs. Destroyah
· Thanos Vs. Rodan
· Phoenix Vs. Mechagodzilla
Check out the first three of those covers, and watch for them in comic stores starting in February from Marvel Comics!
