Image Announces A New Dystopian Sci-fi/Horror: ‘White Sky’

Comic book and video game writer William Harms, artist JP Mavinga, and colourist Lee Loughridge are getting together to produce a new dystopian sci-fi/horror thriller for Image Comics called White Sky, as exclusively announced on IGN yesterday.
“Five years ago, the sky went white and the world ended. Now Violet and her father, David, are driven from hiding and forced to cross what’s left of America toward the shattered ruins of San Francisco, chasing a rumor of refuge. But in a land haunted by the dead, nowhere is safe for the living.
An epic, apocalyptic survival story perfect for fans of The Last of Us, The Walking Dead, and 28 Days Later.”
Mavinga commented on the new series:
“When we face impossible challenges and incomprehensible monsters, sometimes, the only source of courage we have are the ones who won’t abandon us, our loved ones and our family,” said Mavinga. “Beyond trying to draw an interesting visual spectacle, for me, every page is just the story of one small family trying to survive.”
Harms added:
“I’ve always been a fan of ghost stories, so I thought, what if the entire world was haunted? That was the genesis for White Sky, and since then it’s turned into a deeply personal story about a man and his daughter trying to survive in that world.”
White Sky #1 is out on Wednesday, February 18th, from Image Comics and comes with a main cover by Mavinga and a variant cover by animation artist Eliza Ivanova.
