‘The Boys’ Omnibi Return To Print For Series’ 20th Anniversary

by Erik Amaya

A portion of the Comicon audience should get ready to feel a little ragged — The Boys is about to celebrate its 20th anniversary. Although an ongoing concern with the Amazon Prime Video series and spinoffs, the original title by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson began its life of infamy in 2006. To celebrate, Dynamite is bringing the popular The Boys Omnibus series back to print with a “special sticker” attached (see above).

Additionally, the company is offering a retailer incentive: an “all-new holofoil variant” of The Boys #7. The issue was the first published by Dynamite, beginning the long association between publisher and title. The variant issue will come bundled with complete sets of these new Omnibi printings. Each will be available in the following formats: the original 12 volumes in hardcover or paperback, and the three deluxe oversized hardcovers.

Beyond the 20th anniversary of the first issue, the omnibi also anticipates the fifth and final season of Prime’s The Boys television show. Will it mirror the bloody finale of the comic? That remains to be seen.
