Mike Spring And Source Point Press Launch ‘The 8-Bit Slasher: Collector’s Edition’ On Kickstarter

The 8-Bit Slasher: Collector’s Edition is an original horror-comedy that mashes up video games, slasher films, and meta humor for a truly unique comic book experience. The team behind Uncaped and Red, White & Broke present a complete story, published in a deluxe squarebound format on premium paper with cardstock covers.
Eddie Mayhem is a pop culture icon; a movie slasher who also appears in the hit video game series 8-Bit Brawler. When kids at a college party mess around with a mysterious spell book, Eddie is pulled into existence and goes on a killing spree! Bringing elements of the video game realm into the real world, things quickly devolve into 8-Bit mayhem! It’s slasher film meets classic video games meets meta comedy!
The new partnership with Source Point Press takes The 8-Bit Slasher into comic book shops, bookstores, and major retailers nationwide.
However, in order to fulfill SPP’s requirements, the creators needed to add to the page count. That works in your favor, as this new Collector’s Edition takes the original graphic novel and expands it to 80 pages with a new story, new art, and new bonus materials.
There’s an exclusive new 10-page story featuring the history of Eddie Mayhem, everyone’s favorite 8-Bit Slasher. It’s written by Mike Spring with art by the incomparable Shane Moore. Mike and Shane recently collaborated on a story for an anthology comic and they had such a good time, they’re teaming up again for this special edition.
Whether backers choose the Video Game Cover by Tom Ryan or the Comic Book Cover by Joe Garceau, they will be getting a limited edition of the book that will only be available on Kickstarter (and then at conventions until our initial print run is sold out).
This campaign is pretty straightforward with backer rewards. The first reward kicks in at the $12 tier for a digital copy of the book. Physical copies hit at the $20 tier.
