The Hottest Thieves In The Galaxy — ‘Crimehot’ Vol. 1′ Quick Review
by Tito W. James
Crimehot is a sciifi erotica comic by Alec Robbins about a group of horny thieves who pull off capers in a dystopian future ruled by the almighty algorithm. As a fan of Lupin the IIIrd and Rumiko Takahashi‘s ecchi comedies, Crimehot felt like a comic tailor-made to my taste.

While the black-and-white art may look simplistic at first, Robbins makes each lo-fi character design feel incredibly expressive. The doodle style of the drawings makes the more explicit material within the comic more palatable. Crimehot has what every good underground comic needs: a cast of wacky characters, transgressive humor, and the feeling that anything could happen every time you turn the page. Whether you’re interested in the LGBTQ themes or just like dirty jokes, this graphic novel has it all.

Crimehot Vol. 1 is available now from Silver Sprocket now. It’s a perfect introduction to the underground comic work of Alec Robbins and I eagerly await Vol. 2.
