You May Like … ‘Daredevil: Born Again’

Welcome to the table,
Have you ever found yourself enjoying a comic, movie, show, or album only to realize that you have run out of the material and now have to wait for the next bit of media to drop? Have you ever really liked a story and wanted to find something else that’s like it and just didn’t know where to start?
Well, we have been in the same boat time-and-time again, and wanted to give you a resource that would help you find things like the thing you like.
“You May Like…” will be an irregular column where all the suggestions that come up in conversations across interviews, inboxes, social media feeds, and texts will be collected, so you can check out some of the things that we think are like the things we like.
As it’s Daredevil Week, we wanted to get started with Daredevil: Born Again.
1. Ordained – Bad Idea
From author Robert Venditti and artist Trevor Hairsine, this brutal and bombastic action crime comic will leave you breathless while maintaining the religious guilt and bloody knuckles you have come to love from Daredevil.
2) The 36th Chamber of Shaolin – Shaw Brothers Studio
This 1978 Hong Kong martial arts film was produced by Shaw Brothers Studio and directed by Lau Kar-leung. It’s a great film for those who like watching Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) train and learn to hone himself into a weapon, as the film is almost entirely the main character getting better and better.
3) The Raid – PT Merantau Films
Released as The Raid: Redemption in the United States, the film is an Indonesian action film written, edited, and directed by Gareth Evans. If you are a fan of fast, frantic, and brutal building fight scenes, The Raid captures all those brutal battles in stunning detail and is perfect for those looking for more action to add to their playlist.
4) Dummy – Portishead
Dummy is the 1994 debut studio album by English electronic band Portishead. The album is dark and strange, making use of solid samples and trip-hop flows to create some kind of haunted city feeling that can be unsettling, uplifting, and oddly comforting depending on what headspace you are in. It feels very much like Hell’s Kitchen and is a perfect workout album or collection of wind-down tracks when you are looking for something very Daredevil in tone.
5) Zatoichi: The Blind Swordsman – Kan Shimozawa
Zatoichi, the blind swordsman, was created by the author Kan Shimozawa in the 1940s and inspired serialized stories, novels, TV shows, and movies that are still impactful to this day. If you are looking for a rad disabled warrior who fights ninjas, rights wrongs, and goes on cool street-level adventures, Zatoichi is going to be an absolute treat for you!
