The Directors Of ‘Puss in Boots: The Last Wish’ Are Bringing Us The ‘Forgotten Island’

by Tito W. James

Inspired by Filipino folklore, Forgotten Island follows two best friends who become stranded on the mystical world of Nakali, where their only escape might cost them their shared lifetime of memories. Forgotten Island is directed by Joel Crawford and Januel Mercado, who previously brought us the universally beloved Puss in Boots: The Last Wish. I’m glad that Dreamworks is taking a risk on an original film with a unique character duo and vibrant art style. The protagonists are 1990’s babies, so this could be a comforting throwback for viewers in a similar age bracket. Animation fans should support Forgotten Island when it hits theaters.
