It’s Your Turn To Play — ‘Game Changer: Home Edition’ Launches On Kickstarter

by Anton Kromoff

Welcome to the table,

Check this out…

It’s no secret that I’m a big fan of Dropout and their fantastic programming. From Make Some Noise to Dimension 20, Very Important People to Gastronauts, there is always something to watch for the first or fourteenth time.

One of the standouts for me, as a fan of all things game-related, is the iconic Game Changer, hosted by Dropout CEO Samuel Dalton Reich. So it makes total sense that Sam and his talented team would team up with the game designer Joshua Balvin to produce Game Changer: Home Edition.

This launched over on Kickstarter this morning and was already funded within a matter of moments, blowing past its original goal and nearing the two million-dollar threshold with 31 days still to go.

Sam has said he wanted to create something that was not only original, but served as a love letter to the show that provided fun in the form of a game format that will allow, much like the show itself, the home edition to evolve.

While there are a slew of add-ons, including card sleeves, pins, and more, the most intriguing and honestly on-brand thing for me about this whole undertaking is that Sam will be providing challenges to everyone each weekday through June 5th. We can complete to add points to a tally score that will somehow count towards unlocks and additions for everyone involved.

In a show that is ever-changing and evolving as it becomes more and more meta in its approach to how deep and strange the games can go, this feels like a layered plan appropriately orchestrated by one of the biggest visionaries in the streaming space.

You can check out the Kickstarter over at the link and follow along here at Comicon.com, and we will keep an eye on things and report more as the game plays out.

Until next time, I’ve been here the whole time.
